Who delivers flowers at midnight?

We did! That’s right, Beneva Flowers delivered 24 hours a day, 365 days a year! Obviously this didn’t mean our doors were open 24/7 and it certainly wasn’t part of our typical delivery schedule, but if -for whatever reason- you wanted flowers delivered at midnight, there was only one florist in town who could get it done!

It wasn’t magic but it was so simple to offer and such a terrific marketing tool that I can’t believe every florist in the country doesn’t offer 24-hour delivery as part of their services.

The main excuse I hear is that there aren’t any drivers available after hours. That was never a problem at Beneva. We had non-Christian drivers who had no hesitation about working on Christmas and other major holidays and I always split the delivery fee with the driver.

Try it and you’ll be surprised how many people are willing to make one delivery for an extra $25 or $50. If not, I certainly wasn’t above delivering the flowers myself!

Here’s how its done:

• If you wanted the deliver to be made after 4 p.m., it was an additional $10 on top of the regular delivery fee

• If you wanted the deliver to be made after 6 p.m., it was an additional $20

• If you wanted the deliver to be made after 8 p.m., it was an additional $50

• If you wanted the deliver to be made after midnight, an additional $100

Obviously at those rates you weren’t going to be making a lot of midnight deliveries, but you we’re still giving customers the option. Why would you tell your customer “no” if they’re willing to pay the price? Ask a driver if they would deliver for those rates during those hours – you’ll be pleasantly surprised.
